When I was in high school, I was active with a program called DECA. DECA is a marketing group for high school students
in which they can participate in research studies, competitions, and conferences. I was elected State Secretary for 2003-2004.
I also held my high school DECA President position during the same year. DECA taught me how to be a leader, role model,
and a professional. I learned public speaking skills, marketing knowledge, and how an organization works. I credit this
learning experience with my desire to complete my marketing and communications degree.
